הלל אומר... ואל תאמר לכשאפנה אשנה, שמא לא תפנה
Hillel omer… ve’al tomar likhshe’ipaneh eshneh, shema lo tipaneh
Rabbi Hillel says... do not say 'When I have free time I will learn', for perhaps you will never have free time
— Pirkei Avot 2:5At TBZ, there are a variety of opportunities for you to learn Torat hayyim, Torah that is alive and relevant as well as Torah to guide how you live. From taking a class through our Reb Moshe and Anne Waldoks Lifelong Learning Center, to discovering how you can get active in social issues, from parenting Jewishly, to sacred eating, even becoming a B’Mitzvah* long after the age of 13, you will discover our many avenues to grow together in a supportive community.
Step just beyond your comfort zone and try something new, or explore something you’ve been curious about. If you are interested in teaching something you know well, convening a group around a specific interest or have a desire for learning that you do not see currently reflected in offerings, reach out to Rav Tiferet to discuss what’s possible. We are dedicated to keeping our learning and actions relevant and challenging, helping us all to grow meaningfully in community for the sake of tikkun olam, repairing the brokenness in our world.
Tze u’lamed, go and learn!
*B’Mitzvah-a gender-neutral expression of bar or bat mitzvah, literally meaning “of the mitzvah”
