Step into the actors’ and directors’ shoes, exploring 2+ plays over 5 weeks, starting with A Shayna Maidel by Barbara Lebow, “…a powerful and poignant drama about two sisters trying to reconnect after years of separation brought on by the rise of the Nazis.” Followed by a contrasting piece by a significant Jewish writer, TBA, and snippets from other works to compare and contrast. Sign-up is required, space is limited!
Participants will read, explore historical context, interpret scenes, and delve into the journey of the play and articles written about it. We will enliven each play together and discuss how theatrical storytelling uniquely captures the human condition and enables us to view the present differently. Note: No prior theater experience needed!
