At TBZ, we welcome Jews by choice and people interested in the process of becoming Jewish. Candidates for conversion to Judaism are welcomed with openness, and compassion.

Before you begin your process, we ask those considering conversion to Judaism to meet with one of our Rabbis or Rabbinic Interns to share with us some of the journey that has brought you to this moment. Coming to TBZ ahead of this meeting is encouraged so that you may see if our community is a good fit for you.
Candidates undertake an extended period of study which includes enrolling in the class Paths to Judaism offered by Jewish Discovery Institute. Additional options for appropriate study may be arranged on a case by case basis.
Once this period of study has begun and up until conversion, candidates meet periodically with a sponsoring rabbi. In these meetings the candidates and sponsors discuss the process of developing a Jewish identity: taking on specific mitzvot and finding their place in the TBZ community. Those in the process of conversion are expected to be members of TBZ and to take part in programming and classes, becoming part of our community.
TBZ partners with Mayyim Hayyim for immersions in the mikveh for the conversion.
