Senior Rabbi
Sparks of joy connect the spiritual world and the social activism goals of our Senior Rabbi Claudia Kreiman, the first Chilean-born woman ordained to the rabbinate. Through her love of Torah, of learning, of social justice — informed by growing up under a dictatorship — she leads and inspires us to build intentional and meaningful lives in community with one another.
Assistant Rabbi, Director of Community Engagement
Rav Leah leads our efforts in engaging new and seasoned members, in order to help all members find their place in the community and strengthen TBZ. Prior to rabbinical school, Leah worked as an actor, a health administrator, and a Jewish educator in the Boston area.
Rabbi, Congregational Learning & Programming
Having had a front seat at the intersection of race, racism, and religion, Rav Tiferet, our Rabbi of Congregational Learning and Programming, has gained valuable insights into how people see the world and refined her powers of empathy. She combines this deep understanding of people with knowledge of Judaism to engage learners from pre-school children to adults in our community’s spiritual, social, and educational programming.
Musical Prayer Leader
Noah brings music to TBZ from across the Jewish world, from the Debbie Freidman songs of his childhood at camp, to wordless nigunim, to a new song a friend wrote just days earlier. His role at TBZ is grounded in the intention that our communal songful prayer will stir us and spur us to live out our most authentic selves, and to build a world of peace and justice.
Rabbi Emeritus
Along with an infectious laugh and a soulful voice, Rabbi Moshe Waldoks — Reb Moshe — brought many years of deep and eclectic experiences to his role as Temple Beth Zion’s founding rabbi. Educated in a Yiddish-speaking yeshiva and holding a doctorate in Jewish intellectual history, Reb Moshe taught at Wellesley, Hebrew College, and Brandeis before receiving smicha (ordination) by his mentors, Rabbis Zalman Schachter-Shalomi z”l, Arthur Green, and Everett Gendler.
